Deep Time, a collection of wall-mounted glass light objects and blown-glass vessels by Hana Hillerová, was inspired by the formation of celestial bodies and geological structures. The works evoke matter in the aftermath of a cosmic collision – incandescent fragments gradually merging, cooling and consolidating into new forms. Glass becomes a medium of memory, preserving traces of heat, gravity and time, and retaining within it the process of its own formation. The organic, orbital forms refer to deep time: the vast temporal scale over which planets, minerals and the structure of matter are formed.

Growing up in Prague, Hana Hillerová was surrounded by books and exhibitions. She was influenced by her parents, who were deeply interested in the arts, and her mother’s collection of thick-walled Czech glass with optical effects. “Having those art pieces in my visual field as a child had a big influence on me,” Hana shares. These early memories led her to become a full-time artist while attending California Polytechnic State University. Hana pursued an MFA in visual arts at the University of Texas, Austin, and completed a residency at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.

České centrum v Paříži představí v rámci letošního Paris Design Week tři výstavní projekty českých designérů Evy Eisler, Hany Hillerové a Jakuba Berdycha Karpelise. Srdečně zveme na společnou vernisáž, která se uskuteční ve čtvrtek 10. září jako součást prohlídkové trasy Rive Gauche - Paris Design Week.

Sochařka Hana Hillerová představí na letošním Designbloku dvě nové kolekce barevných skleněných váz: Riot of Spring a Remix. Její lampy Night and Day byly v roce 2024 nominovány na cenu Nejlepší novinka designéra/ky. Nové vázy směřují k volné tvorbě — každá má výraznou, intuitivně formovanou siluetu. Hillerová pracuje se sklem jako se sochařským materiálem — experimentálně, osobitě a s citem pro tvar.
